About Us

VicVictor (Vic) Tufts

Victor (Vic) Tufts has spent his first career in the U. S. Coast Guard, retiring in 2006 as a Chief Petty Officer. Throughout his career he has been in direct contact with not only the boating public, but the professional U.S. Merchant Marine.

I have had tours of duty on the Great Lakes, Atlantic and Pacific oceans as well as the western rivers. I’ve worked primarily working Search and Rescue boats and stations in North Carolina, Ohio and New York as well as three tours on Coast Guard Cutters Mackinaw, in Michigan,  Point Doran in Washington and Boutwell,  in California. I also had three other tours in both Marine Safety and as an instructor at both the Coast Guard Training Center in Yorktown Virginia.

Before retiring he was the Boatswains Mate Rating subject matter specialist. Part of those duties involved managing a Coast Guard training program at the RTM STAR Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Since retiring he is working full-time at the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies in Linthicum, Maryland as a maritime Training consultant. His day to day responsibilities includes interviewing both current Merchant Marines and new “Greenhorns” in the process of obtaining their proper documents (MMD, Passport and TWIC) as well as guiding them through the STCW maze (process)  of advancement.

Vic found that most people he worked with found it difficult and frustrating to work with their REC and TWIC office to obtain their documents. So we created Marine Documents LLC and our web-site.

We want to assist you through the tedious process of obtaining your required documents, with the least amount time and effort.
